Download viJournal Free for Mac

With its well-built tagging system, viJournal for Mac can store your day-to-day thoughts and experiences just like a paper journal would. Features such as passcode protection, multiple journal support, and integration with blogging services like Blogger and LiveJournal, coupled with an interface supporting drag-and-drop functionality, make this premium app a well-rounded choice to consider.

At startup, viJournal for Mac throws a number of useful tips at you that can help you understand how to use this application. The creation of new entries, which in the trial version is limited to 30, is a single-click process that automatically inserts the current date. In terms of features and interface, we have found the app to be hit-or-miss. Having two separate buttons on the screen for creating a new entry and displaying two panes, which effectively do identical tasks, the app appears to be unpolished -- still a work in progress. On the plus side, viJournal comes with mobile companion apps, password protection, and content encryption, as well as the ability to post your journal entries on your Blogger or LiveJournal sites. In addition, you can also drag and drop multimedia and images you would like to use for your journal entries, which is quite neat. In terms of performance, the software runs smoothly, requiring little system resources.

While perhaps not the best in its class, viJournal for Mac does have a few features, which make it worth trying out. If you're looking for a journaling app with enhanced security, or you have a personal blog hosted on Blogger or LiveJournal, you will find viJournal for Mac handy.

Editors' note: This is a review of the trial version of viJournal for Mac 2.5.0.
