1. Big Ben
Big Ben, located at the south end of the Houses of Parliament, is the largest bell in the world. It is named after Benjamin Hall, who commissioned it to be made in 1858. The bell was completed in 1860 and weighs 14 tons. The bell can be heard from all over London, but is especially loud during parliamentary sessions when the bells ring every 15 minutes. The clock face is 12 feet in diameter and can be seen from all over London.
2. London Eye
The London Eye is the tallest observation wheel in the world. The wheel is located in the River Thames between Westminster and Canary Wharf and can be seen from many parts of London. When the wheel is fully open, it reaches a height of 553 feet. It takes about 8 minutes to complete one full revolution. There are two capsules which hold up to 70 passengers each. There are many places to eat and drink while riding the wheel, and the view is amazing.
3. Trafalgar Square
Trafalgar Square is the center of London. It is located in the heart of the City of Westminster and was once known as Piccadilly Circus. There are many famous landmarks and statues in the square including Nelson's Column, the National Gallery, the Royal Courts of Justice, and the National Portrait Gallery. It is also home to many festivals and special events throughout the year.
4. London Bridge
London Bridge is one of the oldest bridges in London. It was built in 1078 and destroyed by fire in 1731. The bridge was rebuilt and has been standing ever since. It is now considered to be the most photographed bridge in London.
5. Westminster Abbey
Westminster Abbey is the largest church in London and one of the most important religious sites in the world. It is dedicated to St. Peter and is the burial place of many British royalty and other famous people. It is also the location of coronation ceremonies and royal weddings.
